October 2022 Update from the McCrackens

TOGETHER WITH YOU, we're bringing people together in Rockwood to ensure that no one is invisible and that everyone has access to food, freedom, and forgiveness. TOGETHER WITH YOU, we envision Rockwood becoming a community of holistic prosperity where people are becoming followers of Jesus, and where everyone has the right to earn, learn, and belong.

Praises and Prayer Requests

* We sent you an URGENT PRAYER REQUEST on August 30th. Michelle's surgery seemed to go well, although the doctors are optimistic they will not know for sure if all the cancer was removed until the lab results come back in another week or so. Jereby and Michelle are so very grateful for everyone's prayers on their behalf. Here are a few excerpts from some of their texts to me... Jereby: they had to take some skin (left wrist) for a skin graft for reconstructing her throat with a part of her left arm artery as well, it was successful, they got all the cancer out they believe pending pathology results but they are very optimistic about everything being gone, she will start radiation in 6 weeks…sounds like a successful procedure and a positive start to a road to recovery. All glory goes to Jesus Christ! We want to thank everyone for being so supportive and all the prayers especially mean the world to us and provided comfort to us. Michelle is In and out of a fair amount of pain, but the light in her eyes has returned…We send our love back out to everyone and thank everyone for the prayers and support ❤️💯 Michelle: I’m okay. Very sore, but to be expected. God’s with us all💕 Jereby: I’m so proud of her and her attitude during this time… I’ve prayed aloud for the Lord to guide me and comfort me to know Him during this time the and not to stress on the things I cannot control and trust in Jesus' plan for us. Michelle: All the prayers are working. I am mobile and strong. Incision is healing beautifully. It hopefully keeps getting better from here… ALL GLORY TO GOD!!! There’s a plan through all of this. The last couple years…… It’s been rough, but we stay FAITHFUL to our Lord & Savior 😎 I am walking and functioning quite well considering the extent of the surgery. Anxiety has happened. But absolutely normal under these circumstances. Today the nurses and doctors were talking about maybe going home Wednesday. Nothing set in stone. But God made a warrior when he chose me for His daughter❤️‍🩹 Jereby and I are looking to each other and both looking to God. Absolutely please feel free to be open about our process, this could be helpful to someone. God has prepared all of us for our positions in the body of Christ. This is ours and we are up for the task. We love you, and thank you for everything 💕 ------------------------------------------------------------------- We (Scott and Vicki) thank all of you have been praying for Jereby and Michelle. This month marks a year since we met and began walking a difficult journey together with them. As of today, her doctors are saying she may go home Friday or Monday. Your continued prayers for them and us are much appreciated.

Praises and Prayer Requests (continued) * As previously mentioned, our church (asischurch.com) is beginning an intentional and strategic emphasis on discipleship. We began with fasting and praying together for the month of October. 26 of the 30+ adults that are "owners" (i.e. members) in our church each prayed with a different person every day, asking God to help us "help each other follow Jesus, as a healthy family, in every area of life". November will will find us beginning with a CORE Team of people who are willing to: A) BE discipled B) Disciple OTHERS, and C) Help create and foster a CULTURE of discipleship in our faith family. I have MANY prayer requests for this (which I will share in the coming month) but for now, please pray we will be faithful to do the ONE job the Lord commissioned His Church to do.

Praises and Prayer Requests (continued)

* I (Scott) may have the opportunity to lead a Sunday morning "chapel" every week at a transitional homeless shelter in Rockwood. I will have more details next time, and hopefully a kind of "full-circle story" as well. Please pray I will follow God's guidance on this, and that ministry partnerships will be possible.Praises and Prayer Requests (continued)

* And finally, our annual Rockwood 7 (collaborative prayer for 7 nights at 7 Rockwood churches) AND Rockwood United Worship (a collaborative worship service led by different Rockwood churches, ending the Rockwood 7 week of prayer). Here are some photos of the wonderful week...
