TOGETHER WITH YOU, we're bringing people together in Rockwood to ensure that no one is invisible and that everyone has access to food, freedom, and forgiveness. TOGETHER WITH YOU, we envision Rockwood becoming a community of holistic prosperity where people are becoming followers of Jesus, and where everyone has the right to earn, learn, and belong.
Our interchurch team from Rockwood had a GREAT experience serving the refugees and the Helping Hands staff in Athens! Here are some comments from team members:
“Uniting from different branches of the same tree, to get to the root that produces fruit"
--Jacob Small
"Athens 2022 was a life-changing and transformative trip that deepened my understanding of the global nature of God's Kingdom and His work amongst Muslim Refugees today" --Pastor Pete Armstrong
“(This experience) is an open invitation to see God’s hand at work amongst the Church and the nations like you have not experienced it before. He WILL surprise you!”
--Alicia Gonzalez
“There are many learning opportunities with inter church mission teams. I saw and felt the power of God’s love in bringing us all together to fulfill the great commission. My personal experience on the team was life changing. It was like being on two mission trips simultaneously. A mission in reconciling the world to God through Christ and reconciling church people to one another. I loved my team and I learned so much from everyone.” --Norma Tello
"I ate a lot of great food." --Scott McCracken
We served the Helping Hands staff, met and loved on (and were loved back by) refugees, heard great testimonies (and shared our own), preached, met with co-laborers who shared very encouraging stories of God at work, shared meals with dear friends who came to Christ many years ago in Athens and heard their stories (some pics below), were able to bless people and the HH ministry financially, saw some of my kids and grandkids, saw for the first time my son Kyle preach in Greek (in person), ate lots of great food, and had an overall fantastic time!
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THOSE WHO INVESTED TO HELP MAKE THIS UNIFYING SERVING EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE!
Dinner with our dear brother Dr. Joseph who met our Papa years ago in Athens!
Bible story time for kids during evangelistic meeting for adults
After the meal on Family Day, interested seekers stay and listen to a message and ask questions.
Meal with Ilir (from Albania) and Kate (America) and their son Matthew (their daughter Ana was at camp). Ilir met Jesus in Athens years ago, and he and Kate served on our team for many years.
Meal with Anne (from Kenya) and her son Michael. They met Jesus in Athens many years ago.
Meal with Laura (from Albania) who met Jesus in Athens many years ago. She is Gregor Menga's sister.
Fotis and Mary, and George Romeos. They work for AMG, are significant leaders in the Greek church, are close friends, and George was the very first board member on the very first Board of Directors of Helping Hands.
BAD NEWS AND GOOD NEWS...
1. The bad news is that one of our teamies on the short-term mission to Austria will not be able to join us after all. :( So now we are down to 4 all together.
2. The good news is my remaining 3 teamies were the same ones who served with me and Vicki last summer in Athens, and we are a tight team!
3. The good news is we have enough funds for us all to go! We are just trying to raise a little more to bless the team there with and pay someone locally to cook the meals for the staff retreat we will be serving.
There is sill a little time left if you feel led to invest in this mission.

Thank you for any way you feel God leads you to help.Together we can join God in His mission to reach the nations with the Gospel!
While in Athens, I was able to see some of our kids (Kyle and Olga, Steve and Kendra) and our grandkids (Phoebe, Rhea, and Luke) because they were all visiting relatives in Greece at the same time! What a double blessing from God!! And as a bonus, I got to see Kyle preach at our former Greek evangelical church!
Because of YOU, we are able to educate others about sex trafficking, help foster collaboration amongst churches in an at-risk community, disciple others who will disciple others, and take the Gospel to the nations!Thank you for allowing God to use your prayers and financial investments to help this happen!
